QUESTIONS

Why to choose a stretched fabric on wall flannelette?
Because of comfort it provides (acoustical system and isotherm proof)) and also for its longevity, a stretched fabric on wall flannelette will last a long time.
Usualy, we change a fabric every 18-20 years.

Why to choose the SWAL system ?
Easy to fix, it will allows you to change your interior decoration as you wish, frames are re-usable as well as the accessories.

Is-it easy to install stretched fabric ?
You can't be wrong, the fabric is cut only when it is fixed.

Which type of fabric to use?
With SWAL system you can use any kind of fabric from the thinner to the thicker (like velvet).

Which measuring?
The measuring you need is equal to the room perimeter + 30 cm in large width (2.80 m)

How to proceed?
Easy ! Once frames and wall flannelette are fixed, you stick temporary the fabric all around the wall, starting from the top then to the right, then on the left and finaly on the bottom, this gives you the possibility to rectify before final setting. In order to get a regular tension of the fabric you introduce it in the frame.

Don't worry, if the fabric is not in the right place. Take it off and repeat the fixation.

Finishing
Sheathed edging , Piping finishing:
When fabric is set, cut any surplus leaving only 1cm/1.5 cm large to be inserted in the ceiling (or skirting board) using the PVC spatula. Cut the excess of fabric as short as possible gripping it in the frame.

Swal Frames
The quantity you need is equal to the perimeter of each wall, only one frame on each angle between two walls. Don't forget doors and windows. If you stick on, use neoprene based gel adhesive (1 box for 20 to 25 m of frame) or neoprene based adhesive in cartridge (12 to 15 m of frame) see notice of use on packaging.
With neoprene gel, glue the frames on a clean wall, tear-off any former covering, once corresponding surface on wall is glued, using paintbrush glue on back side of the frame. Put the frame as soon as glued surfaces are not sticky any more. For angles , cut the frame at 45 degree so to leave a continuity of frames.
If you choose clipping (instead of gluing) use a stapler (big clips ref. 92 if possible)
For the re-entrant angles receiving two fabrics we recommand however to glue the frames.

Wall Flannelette
Needed quantity is equal to the wall surface without doors and windows.
To fix it use a stappler or glue if you have a concrete wall. The wall flannelette covering the flat part or frames.

Which one to use?
Polyester flannelette
The most used, comfortable but not anti-static, it draws dust.

Fire proof one ref m1
Mainly used for public area.

Acoustic flannelette
Sound proof it reduces acoustic waves, much more efficient than cotton.

Soft thick cotton
Comfortable, sound proof, anti-static.

Isotherm cotton
Used for old premises, without isolation.

Tooling
Paint brush for the glue, pair of shears, cutter and a lot of "elbow grease".

Accessories
Pair of shears especially studied to cut frame.

Stainless spatula to insert fabric into the frame.

PVC spatula studied for visible border finishes and insert fabric between the lisere and the ceiling

Frame Socket. Piece of wood to be glued on the wall behind the plug.
when it's dry reset the plug.

Tipps-oof
Using a small-width fabric you can have a seamless fixing for a SWAL frame will permit a right connection the two part being inserted in the same frame.

Re-entrant angles
Lay up and down 45 mm from the angle, join the two points with a blue powder string, glue the frames throughout the line.
If you are right handed, stand in front of the angle, stick the strip in the angle on the right.
If you are left handed, stick it on the left.

Coming out angles
Do the same as above but trace at 30 mm from the wall corner.

What is the use of the small tongue on the upper part?
It allows you to get a regular interval between the ceiling, skirting board and "liseré" in order to insert excess of fabric left after the final setting.
Does this small tongue impedes you? Don't hesitate to cut it throughout the length.

Head of bed
Perhaps you don't find the ideal head bed!
We suggest, first to draw exactly the shape, the measuring on the wall, then glue the frame Courbe 107 (see product list) according to the curves you want, tense the fabric on the frames taking care to insert the wall flannelette inside the frame created, before final setting.

Padding doors
You can use any fabric (i. e. leather..) on a door, use the perimeter needed to get a perfect finish. The padding door is ideal for a best acoustic isolation.

Plug sockets
We recommand to seal the electric wires with a small silicone cork, so closing air flow and leaving fabric without spot.

How to drill stretched fabric to suspend a frame ?
1 - Cut the fabric in cross of a diametre slightly superior to the meche.
2 - Catch the wall flannelette that you pull slightly from the hole.
3 - Cut the flannel part taken out by the hole.
4- Then leak out delicately.
